A Slight Problem

It's not major but I thought I'd mention it. In the gantt chart, one of the tasks scheduled is-  storyboard for one of the video presentations. Since we have decided to create a storyboard for the website, we have forgotten to place that in the scheduling of our tasks. As the Gantt Chart was created on one of the team member's computers and only print screened onto Google Docs, it is not possible for the other two members to edit and include this task.
--> Lesson learnt: Make sure each team member has a copy of the Gantt Charts.

Update: Each team member has a copy of the Gantt Charts on Microsoft Excel and appropriate changes have been made to include the scheduling of the completion of the storyboard for the multimedia website!

It's All About the Planning

During the holidays, my group completed some of the group deliverables. This included:
- ISC diagram for the information system.
- Gantt Chart outlining the tasks to be completed and their schedule.
- Storyboard for our website.
The ISC diagram and storyboard were completed first on paper as a draft and then put onto Google Docs. As for the Gantt Chart was created on Microsoft Excel and transferred onto Google Docs.
In terms of the Gantt Chart, as a group, we thought it would be appropriate to plan out the schedule for our project in two ways:
1. The Gantt Chart for the overall project including the group and individual deliverables( journal).
2. The Gantt Chart for the website: Where individual components such as gathering information, creating video's, creating activities etc….are scheduled.

As a team we decided to have a storyboard for not only one of the videos but for our whole website. Thus enabling us to have an idea on the layout of each page of our website. I created the Storyboard for the multimedia website as powerpoint presentation on Google Docs. Thus being shared, allowing my other team members to edit and add any aspects. On one slide will show the overall storyboard ( created by Reshma) for the website and then after - each slide will show every website page which is planned out . For example:

Deliverables

As a group we have decided to first complete the following group deliverables together, instead of assigning roles.

Group Deliverables:
ISC diagram for the information system.
Gantt Chart outlining the tasks to be completed and their schedule.
Storyboard for one of the video presentations.
Communication Plan outlining strategies, methods and frequency of communication your team will use throughout the project.
- Storyboard for the multimedia website *

* In terms of the multimedia website, we have decided it is appropriate to prepare a storyboard for the actual website, to assist us in planning out each page. Thus deciding which page will have text, images, audio, video, activities et cetera….

Also we will be using Google Docs to:
- Plan out the assignment
- Share our ideas
- Post the above group deliverables
Thus being an effective source of communication between each group member.

That time of the year- Assignment Time!

The assignment is as follows:

"This project involves you working in groups of three to create a hypermedia tutorial (effectively a multimedia website) that could be used to instruct year 12 IPT students on various aspects of Communication Systems as outlined in the HSC syllabus. The tutorial will be truly multimedia, consisting of text and numbers, hypertext, images, audio and video."

My group consists of:
- Myself
- Reshma
- Stephanie

We have yet to decide on our individuals roles, in terms of the group deliverables and the questions each of us will be answering.
